Built in 1873, by the Genoese industrialist Eugenio Pretto, for the conservation and processing of sardines, the craft factory called "I Pretti" with the distorted name of its manufacturer, was sold in 1874 to the most inspired entrepreneur of the Florio family, Ignazio Senior.
